Combating gender-based violence in Cambodia

This project will empower Commune/Sangkat councilors and women’s organisations in Cambodia to use information and communication technologies (ICTs) to monitor government prevention efforts and responses to VAW; to aggregate and analyze data that captures these efforts and to produce evidence that can be used to put pressure on the Cambodian government to deliver on its promises to combat and eliminate violence against women. The project aims to replicate the project implemented by our partner, the APC, in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo in a different cultural context. A data base system will be created and made available in both Khmer and English in our web site “About Women”. Commune/Sangkat councilors and staff from relevant institutions will be trained on how to collect data and to use such data base. This project is under funding support of the APC and in partner with the National League of Commune/Sangkat.
